Rink & Refrigeration

Specifically Engineered for Ice Rinks and Cold Storage Flooring

About Our Products

Piping is an integral part of Ice rinks and cold storage flooring. Polytubes manufactures products specifically engineered for these applications.

Ice rinks and cold storage flooring are expensive projects, and the pipe is an integral part of these applications. Therefore, Polytubes manufactures pipe especially for ice rink floors and cold storage applications. Our pipe is more flexible and crack resistant than the usual HDPE pipe that is being used in these applications.

Rink Refrigeration Pipe

Product Types

Standard HDPE

  • A quality entry level product that can be used in a variety of applications

Professional LLDPE

Our highest-grade ice rink product using Linear Low-Density resin which has stronger properties that allows for a thinner wall while achieving the same pressure ratings.

LLDPE pipe has significant advantages the lower-grade Low-Density Polyethene (LDPE) resin that is typically used in the industry. Some of the many advantages include:

  • Higher tensile strength and higher impact and puncture

resistance than LDPE

  • Flexible and elongates under stress versus other LDPE

materials which tend to fail

LDPE cont’d

  • Increased Environmental Stress Crack Resistance
  • Has good resistance to chemical and ultraviolet attacks
  • Stronger resin properties allow for a thinner wall to be used to achieve the same pressure ratings.
  • The thinner wall makes LLDPE tubing more flexible with greater elongation under stress where LPDE tends to fail.
  • Increased flexibility of the pipe assists in easier installation, especially in cold weather.
